Covered pan: 1. Rinse rice thoroughly, in a sieve, under cold running water.
For a tender grain, soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Drain the rice. 2. For every cup of rice add 1 1/2 cups of water.
(Optional: add 1 tbsp of butter or margarine and a pinch of salt.). Bring to a boil, stir, cover and simmer gently for
10 minutes or until the water is absorbed. 3. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes. Then serve.
Microwave: 1. Rinse rice

Put measured rice and water into a deep microwave safe bowl. Cover and cook on High for 6 minutes. Uncover and stir. Recover and cook on Defrost for
six minutes. For best results do not cook more than 12 oz of rice at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Heating time may require adjustments.
Store rice in cool dry place.
