Dice all vegetables and cut meat into 2 inch squares. Put these in a large boiler and cook together with the bone, water, salt and previously soaked beans. Cook until meat and beans are tender. (This may also be cooked in a pressure cooker at 15 lb. pressure for 30 mins.) Heat oil and fry finely chopped garlic onion and pepper. add this to the broth and remove the bone. Add all remaining ingredients except the macaroni and cook over medium heat for 25 mins. or until vegetables are tender. Add macaroni cut in 1″ pieces and cook for 10 mins. or until soft.
