"Butter Cream Cakes"
- 1/4 lb butter
- 3 cups confectioners' sugar
- 4 tbs milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Beat the butter and gradually add remaining ingredients. Makes sufficient for an 8 to 10 inch cake.
Use orange juice instead of milk and add 1 tbs grated orange peel.
Use 2 tbs strong coffee and only 2 tbs milk
Add 2 or 3 tbs cocoa dissolved in the milk.
Use mint extract instead of vanilla. Add a few drops of green vegetable coloring.
MAPLE AND WALNUT CREAM
Add maple extract instead of vanilla and 1 cup of chopped walnuts.
