ALL MY CUBAN FAMILY, THE OLDER ONES MADE IT THIS WAY. FORGET ABOUT ALL THE FANCY MACHINES AND COFFEE POTS! DON'T LOOK ANY FURTHER THAN THIS TRIED AND TRUE METHOD OF MAKING THE BEST COFFEE YOU EVER TASTED. DO NOT BOIL THE COFFEE. LET THE WATER COME TO A BOIL SHUT IT ADD THE COFFEE, LET IT STEEP FOR 1 MINUTE, STIR, AND FILTER THROUGH THE SOCK INTO A CARAFF. I USE BUSTELLO REGULAR COFFEE- IT IS THE BEST!
FOR A 1.5 QUART POT 48 OZS. ADD 4 HEAPING TABLESPOONS OF COFFEE, TO ALMOST BOILING POINT WATER, SHUT THE FIRE ADD COFFEE AND STIR LET STEEP FOR 1 MINUTE, THE LONGER THE STRONGER. IF YOU BOIL THE COFFE IT WILL BURN AND GIVE A BITTER FLAVOR.
