5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Frijoles just aren't the same without them...., 5.7.2013
Reviewer: Vanessa Benitez (Miami, FL)

I am first generation Cuban-American and a native Miamian and I have to disagree with Nancy. I have seen the supposed "aji cachucha" sold in stores , and those are NOT aji cachucha but a spicier pepper. Real aji cachucha is hard to come by in stores and you either know someone who has a plant, buy a plant from a small market grower, or you grow them yourself from seed. The real aji cachucha are sweet and have a delightful almost smokey flavor they add to the frijoles. Much like culantro (which is now FINALLY available in stores) you used to be VERY lucky to know someone who had access to these beauties. I LOVE aji cachucha!

Reviewer: Helen Oneill (Citra, FL)

Wow Cachucha really is great in any Latin cooking but a friend just introduced me to the Venezuelan Aji Dulce and heirloom pepper that is absolutely addictive! It looks like a habanero, smells like a habaner but when you bite into it -- amazing NO heat! only a sweet fruity taste with a spicy overtone. Thus the name the Sweet Habanero! Cannot wait to find more -- maybe this can be added to the CM's product line. If anyone knows where to find this fantastic pepper let us know.

Cachucha peppers are NOTthe same as ajicitos dulces. I live in Miami and buy cachucha peppers all the time because I cannot find ajicitos dulces. However, be aware that Cachucha peppers are a little bit spicy and do not have the same sweet flavor of ajicitos dulces.

I'm a displaced New Yorker living in California for 23 years. The few visits I've made to NYC and Miami always left a lingering taste in my mouth for traditional seasoning. When I saw these "ajis dulce" my heart jumped for joy! My question is, will you soon be getting "culantro" to complete the duo???

I am an avid South Florida cook. We do Cajun and Cuban cooking mostly and I couldn't live without my cachuchas. They also make a great pickled relish for sandwiches! My neighbor adds it to a soft cheese spread for a delightful change. And yes, that is a great deal being that they are unusual. And then you have seeds too for next season!

why do restriction of imports of such items as cachucha peppers and root veggi. from state to state very so much. when they can be found here in many orietal stores yet not of the same quality.but never the less traveling to these places unless you live in china town is more costly then shipping. thank you
