Cook lentils in water with a green pepper until tender. Cook bacon
until fat runs out. Save half the bacon and a little fat to add to the rice
when serving. To the remaining bacon add the oil and when hot fry lentil
chopped onion, crushed garlic and chopped green pepper. Add the broth,
lentils, bay leaf, salt, oregano and cumin. When liquid boils,
add washed rice, cover and cook over medium heat until rice is tender.
Serve with the remaining bacon and fat. Serves 8.
